Rita Daniels Addresses Criticism Over Daughter’s Marriage to Ned Nwoko
An old BBC interview featuring Rita Daniels, mother of actress Regina Daniels, has resurfaced online, contradicting earlier claims that her daughter married billionaire politician Ned Nwoko at 17.
In the video, Rita Daniels stated that Regina was nearly 20 years old when she tied the knot with Nwoko and addressed public criticism surrounding the marriage.
According to Rita, Regina had expressed her desire to marry young and was deeply in love with Ned Nwoko.
The marriage ceremony took place traditionally on June 20, 2019, in Asagba, Delta State.
The couple is currently involved in a high-profile dispute, with Ned Nwoko claiming he provided Regina a house in Asaba, Delta State, and placed her family members on monthly allowances.
Nwoko also revealed that he transferred an estimated ₦125 million to Rita Daniels over the last two years.
Adding to the controversy, Regina’s brother, Sweezzy, alleged on Instagram that Ned Nwoko’s son died in the UK from heart failure and seizures due to excessive drug use.
The resurfaced video provides context to the ongoing public debate over the family’s claims and counters prior assertions regarding Regina Daniels’ age at marriage.
