Rivers PDP Defends Governor Fubara Against APC Allegations

In response to Tony Okocha, the factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Edwin Woko, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed allegations that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is behind the chaos in the APC.

Okocha accused Fubara of instigating conflict after a court ruling invalidated the party’s recent congresses for failing to adhere to a prior court order.

Woko characterized Okocha’s claims as unfounded and a diversion from the internal problems plaguing the APC, which he argues has been struggling since losing power in Rivers State in 2015.

He stated that the Rivers State High Court nullified the congresses due to the APC’s defiance of the court’s directives.

Moreover, Woko asserted that Governor Fubara remains a devoted member of the PDP and serves as its leader in Rivers State, contrary to claims made by Okocha.

He emphasized the importance of understanding the history of the APC’s difficulties while highlighting Fubara’s commitment to restoring the state’s reputation.
