Ronaldo Compares Becoming a Billionaire to Winning the Ballon d’Or

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed that the most expensive item he has ever bought is a €50 million Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet.

Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the 40-year-old Al-Nassr captain explained that while he can afford almost anything, he spends selectively and values investments over indulgence.

Ronaldo, whose net worth reportedly reached $1.4 billion in October 2025 after signing the richest contract in sports history, described becoming a billionaire as comparable to winning football’s most prestigious individual award, the Ballon d’Or.

“The most expensive thing I’ve ever bought? An aeroplane, yes,” Ronaldo said. “I’ve had my aeroplane since I was 30, but I changed it a year ago, so it was a bit expensive. I can buy whatever I want, but I don’t need it.”

On his love for cars, Ronaldo admitted he owns between 41 and 42 luxury vehicles but considers them more as investments than a passion. “I love Bugattis, they’re different beasts, but I don’t drive much anymore,” he revealed.

Looking ahead, Ronaldo shared that he is mentally preparing for life after football, planning to spend more time with family, explore his businesses, watch UFC, and play padel—though he joked that he would “never be a YouTuber.”

The Portuguese star is expected to return to action for Al-Nassr against FC Goa in the AFC Champions League Two in Riyadh.
