Sarah Martins Breaks Silence After Lawyer Alleges May Edochie Sought Her Arrest
Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has spoken out following claims by Emeka Ugwuonye, former lawyer to May Edochie, that the estranged wife of Yul Edochie pressured police authorities to arrest her.
In a viral video making rounds online, Emeka alleged that May had mounted pressure on the police to ensure Sarah’s arrest. According to him, he personally filed a petition against the actress on May’s behalf, but said the police questioned the urgency and necessity of the request.
Sarah Martins, who was once a close associate of Judy Austin, Yul Edochie’s second wife, has had a history of public clashes with May. In 2023, her criticisms of May led to a ₦500 million lawsuit filed against her.
Responding to Emeka’s claims, Sarah reposted the viral video on Instagram, warning the lawyer against using her name in his ongoing feud with May. She surprisingly declared support for May, while cautioning Emeka to move on from the matter.
In her words:
“Bia oga lawyer, ejim Chukwu ayo gi… keep my peaceful name off your mouth sir. I am now a QUEEN MAY FAN and I won’t allow you instigate me against her. Your manipulative tricks won’t work on me. Leave that woman alone! Get new clients and move on!!!”
Emeka Ugwuonye has in recent months openly criticized May on social media, escalating tensions within the Edochie family saga. His latest remarks have reignited conversations about the long-running dispute between Sarah and May, which has played out publicly since Yul’s controversial marriage to Judy Austin.
The exchange quickly attracted comments online. While some social media users praised Sarah for extending support to May, others mocked the ongoing disputes. One Instagram user wrote, “God bless you ma. Don’t mind this manipulative and disbarred lawyer.” Another added, “But Sarah already asked for forgiveness. This man should let it go.”
