Severe Hailstorms, Tornadoes and Flooding Devastate Northern U.S. Plains and Midwest as Eastern Europe and Turkey Battle Floods and Wildfires
Parts of the northern U.S. Plains and Midwest have recently endured large hailstorms, tornadoes and flooding, causing widespread damage uprooted trees and significant power outages affecting over 250,000 customers.
Emergency responders in these regions are managing the aftermath as communities work to restore services and begin recovery efforts.
Simultaneously, Eastern Europe and Turkey face compounding natural disasters with severe flooding and widespread wildfires.
In Turkey, persistent wildfires fueled by record-breaking heatwaves and strong winds have devastated large areas particularly around the city of Bursa, the country’s fourth-largest urban center.
Since late June at least 17 people including firefighting volunteers, have died amidst the relentless blazes. Over 3,500 residents have been evacuated from more than 19 villages, as firefighting teams continue
