Shooting Stars Coach Olowokere Slumps, Dies During Training

Tragedy struck Shooting Stars Football Club on Monday morning as assistant coach Akin Olowokere suddenly collapsed during training and later died.

Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars player and recently appointed assistant coach of the Oluyole Warriors, was attending a training session at Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode in preparation for Matchday 2 of the ValueJet Cup 2025 when the incident occurred.

He immediately received medical attention on the field before being rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The NPFL club had appointed Olowokere and other technical staff following the departure of the previous coaching crew led by Gbenga Ogunbote.

The club and football community mourn the sudden loss of the dedicated coach.
