Singer Ayo Maff Reveals Why He Left Home at 16

Nigerian singer Ayo Maff has shared the reasons behind his decision to move out of his parents’ home in the Shomolu area of Lagos at the age of 16.

In a recent interview with Hip TV, the 19-year-old rising star recounted his early struggles and motivation to support his family.

As the eldest child, he felt a strong sense of responsibility and believed leaving home was necessary to create a better future for his loved ones.“Life in Shomolu is tough, but it also gave me unforgettable experiences that shaped my music,” Ayo Maff said.

“I knew I had to step out and make something of myself for my family’s sake.”He explained that he stayed with a friend for over a year after leaving home.

While his mother was concerned, he reassured her that he would still visit and stay connected.Ayo Maff rose to fame after releasing his 2023 hit single “Dealer,” featuring Fireboy DML.
