South African Air Force Commends NAF’s Professionalism, Innovation

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has received praise for its professionalism and strategic excellence from the Chief of the South African Air Force (SAAF), Lieutenant General Wiseman Simo Mbambo, during his official visit to the Headquarters Tactical Air Command (TAC) in Makurdi, Benue State, on Monday.

The visit, held on October 28, 2025, was aimed at strengthening bilateral defence ties and enhancing regional airpower collaboration between both nations.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the NAF said the meeting reinforced its commitment to continental security cooperation, joint training, and technological innovation.

Lieutenant General Mbambo commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism, discipline, and dedication to innovation, noting that it reflects Africa’s growing capability to develop its own military technologies.

“The Nigerian Air Force has demonstrated remarkable professionalism and growth, reflecting Africa’s capacity to develop its own airpower solutions. Collaboration between our Air Forces is vital to building a safer and more secure continent,” Mbambo said.

He was accompanied by the NAF Chief of Operations, Air Vice Marshal Francis Edosa, and received by the Air Officer Commanding TAC, Air Vice Marshal Patrick Obeya, along with other senior officers.
