The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Enugu West Senatorial District Youth Mobilization, Hon. Emeka Nelson Nwogbo, and other youths he mobilized in the senatorial zone, joined Barr. Victor Udeh, the Chief of Staff to the Enugu State Government, for his online registration exercise into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event took place on Saturday in the hometown of the Chief of Staff, Umabi Ward, Udi Local Government Area. Many political figures were in attendance, including: the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Amb. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi; APC Caretaker Chairman, Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye; Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uche Ugwu; Udi Local Government Chairman, Hon. Hyginus Agu and the Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization in Enugu West Senatorial zone, Hon. Emeka Nelson Nwogbo, among others.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Emeka Nelson Nwogbo stated:
“As the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, my impression of the e-registration exercise is that it is a very important and strategic step towards strengthening our democracy. That is why I have mobilized youths from different local governments in Enugu West to welcome the Chief of Staff today as he officially joins the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
He added that youth inclusiveness is clearly recognized and prioritized in the present administration of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah. “This government has demonstrated commitment by appointing young people into active participation in governance,” he said.
“Youth inclusion is a continuous process. My duty, and that of other youth leaders, is to ensure that the opportunities created by the government are fully accessed by young people at the grassroots level, and that youth voices are not just heard but acted upon,” he emphasized.
“My message to the youths is simple and sincere: be involved, be informed, and be responsible. This is not the time for apathy or withdrawal from civic duties. Register to vote, participate in governance, acquire skills, and contribute positively to your communities. The future belongs to those who prepare for it, and governance is too important to be left to a few. I encourage youths to remain united, law-abiding, and proactive. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive Enugu State where young people are not just leaders of tomorrow, but partners in leadership today,” he said.
Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Enugu State Government, Hon. Barr. Victor Udeh, appreciated the youths for coming out in large numbers. He urged more technocrats and professionals to actively participate in politics in Enugu State, stressing that their involvement would enrich governance and help build a more responsive and prosperous Enugu State and society at large.
