St Mary’s Abduction Fallout: Two Parents Lose Lives Amid Trauma in Niger State

Two parents linked to the recent abduction of students from St Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri village, Agwara Local Government Area, Niger State, have tragically died following the traumatic events.

The development was confirmed by the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, through his media aide, Daniel Atori.

Bishop Yohanna, who also chairs the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state and is the school proprietor, identified one of the deceased parents as Anthony Musa.

According to the bishop, Musa suffered a heart attack shortly after the abduction incident and passed away. Efforts are ongoing to contact the family of the female parent, whose identity remains unknown.

“The man Anthony Musa died of heart attack, but the female parent’s details are yet to be confirmed as we have been unable to reach her family,” Bishop Yohanna said.

This tragic news comes as communities and authorities continue to grapple with the aftermath of school kidnappings in the region.
