“Stop Spreading False Info” – Adekunle Gold Debunks Bone Marrow Transplant Rumour
Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has shut down a viral rumour claiming he underwent a bone marrow transplant.
The speculation began on social media after a user on X (formerly Twitter) confidently asserted that the award-winning artist had the procedure. The user wrote:
“Yes, he has, but since he’s had a bone marrow transplant, I don’t think it affects him that much anymore.”
Adekunle Gold, whose real name is Adekunle Kosoko, swiftly responded to the claim, calling it false and made with undue confidence. He replied:
“It’s how you people say things you don’t know with so much confidence . No, I haven’t done a bone marrow transplant.”
His clapback sparked widespread reactions from fans, many of whom praised him for addressing the rumour with humor and clarity.
The confusion may have stemmed from the singer’s 2022 song “5 Star,” in which he opened up about living with sickle cell anemia. While his candidness won him admiration, it also led to increased public curiosity about his health journey.
Adekunle Gold’s recent response reinforces the importance of verifying health-related information, especially about public figures.
