Support Tinubu’s Vision, Praise Wike’s Abuja Transformation – Ortom Urges Nigerians

Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has urged Nigerians to put political differences aside and rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration, especially highlighting the impressive transformation underway in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the leadership of Minister Nyesom Wike.

Ortom made the remarks during a recent inspection tour of major infrastructure projects in Abuja with Wike. Expressing admiration, he noted that he had never seen such a scale of development in the FCT, despite having observed the performance of many previous ministers.

“The president cannot transform the country alone; we must all support him regardless of party affiliations. Let’s rise above politics and support positive initiatives,” Ortom stated.

He praised Tinubu’s decision to appoint Wike—an opposition figure—to the critical position of FCT Minister, calling it a demonstration of true leadership.

“If President Tinubu was overly partisan, Wike would not have been appointed. This shows he values competence over politics,” Ortom added.

Highlighting specific projects such as the new bus terminals at Kugbo and Mabushi and the implementation of a painted taxi system, Ortom said the developments resemble what is typically seen in advanced cities abroad.

“I’ve lived in Abuja since 2008, but with the rapid changes happening now, I practically need a guide to navigate the city. That’s how transformed it has become in just one year,” he said.
