“Take your first salary to your father for blessings, not your pastor”– Kanayo O. Kanayo

Kanayo O. Kanayo, a respected actor in Nollywood, has advised Nigerians to offer their first salaries to their parents for blessings, instead of giving them to religious leaders.

He believes that the tradition of handing over the first salary of each year to a pastor is not in line with biblical teachings.

Kanayo O. Kanayo urges Christians to be more conscious of their financial decisions and not blindly follow religious practices that may not be beneficial in the long run.

He wrote:


“Take your first salary to your father for his blessings not your pastor.

“And to that Pastor who said it belongs to him in a video in January, did you ever consider, the feeding/ transportation to and fro the office for that month? Where is this in the Bible?

“Christians wake up. This is not Christianity.”
