Terry G Addresses Allegations of Song Theft in ‘Pass Me Your Love’ Collaboration with AY.Com

Nigerian artist Terry G has broken his silence on long-standing allegations that he stole the hit track Pass Me Your Love from fellow musician AY.Com.

Contrary to the widespread assumption that Terry G was the lead artist on the song, he clarified that he was only a featured collaborator.

The confusion, which gained traction over the years, stemmed from Terry G’s frequent performances of the track, leading some fans to believe he owned the rights to it.

In a recent post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Terry G dismissed the accusations as “pure ignorance” and defended his right to perform the song at public events.

“To those saying I stole Pass Me Your Love from AY.Com that’s pure ignorance,” he wrote. “So I don’t have the right to perform a song I collaborated on? Your favourite artists do it all the time, but when it’s me, it becomes a problem. Hypocrisy at its finest.”

Terry G also clarified that the song was never included in any of his personal albums, stressing that it was always a collaborative effort, not a matter of ownership.

He further suggested that the public backlash and misinterpretation may have negatively impacted AY.Com’s career, stating:

“Some of you ruined AY’s moment with your noise, not me. As for my shine, nobody can block it. You no reach.”

In a separate statement earlier this year, Terry G revealed he now goes by the name Terry Gzus, which he described as a “divine redirection” in his personal and artistic journey.
