Terry G Slams Critics Over Burna Boy’s Concert Controversy
Nigerian singer Terry G has defended Burna Boy after a viral video showed a couple being sent out during one of his concerts for falling asleep.
The incident sparked widespread criticism and calls for boycotts of the afrobeats star’s shows.
Speaking on social media, Terry G questioned why anyone would attend a music performance only to sleep, arguing that the same behaviour would not be tolerated in a church.
He said:
“If it happened in a church and someone was found sleeping, wouldn’t the ushers immediately wake them up? People are holding Burna Boy accountable just because he is now a public figure.
You go to his show to sleep, and the camera captures that moment, then the performance gets discredited. It’s unfair.”
Terry G explained that moments like these are often recorded and circulated online to tarnish an artist’s reputation.
He stressed that performers deserve understanding, especially when fans engage in inappropriate behaviour during a live show.
The discussion has reignited conversations about the expectations placed on public figures and how minor incidents can be amplified on social media.
