Teyana Taylor to Undergo Emergency Vocal Surgery

Award-winning American singer Teyana Taylor has revealed she will undergo emergency vocal surgery due to a noncancerous growth on one of her vocal cords.

The announcement came via her Instagram story, where she explained that she had been quietly dealing with vocal challenges for some time.

“That’s been messing with my voice and causing real discomfort. Thankfully, we caught it and it’s treatable. But it does mean I need to pause and give myself time to fully heal,” she shared.

Due to the surgery, Taylor has cancelled all upcoming appearances, including a scheduled interview on Michelle Obama’s podcast this weekend.

Despite the setback, her upcoming album Escape Room is still slated for release on August 22, 2025. The album will feature 22 tracks.

In her message to fans, she expressed gratitude for their continued support. “Thank you for rocking with me through it all for the love, grace, and space to heal,” she wrote.
