“There’s Tea at Home!” — Nigerian Lady Laments Paying ₦10,000 for Green Tea in Lagos Restaurant

A Nigerian woman has gone viral after revealing that she was charged ₦10,000 for a cup of green tea at a Lagos restaurant.

Sharing her experience on social media, the woman said she only ordered tea while out for lunch with a friend but was left speechless when the bill arrived.

“My mouth dropped so much I was hoping the people sitting next to me didn’t see that flies were catching my mouth,” she joked. “What do you mean you boiled water, put two tea bags, and it was ₦10,000?”

According to her, there was no point arguing since she had already finished the drink.

“I obviously could not complain because I drank their tea. There’s no way to return it. I had to pay,” she said.

The woman admitted that the incident taught her an important lesson about dining out in Lagos, humorously concluding,

“There’s tea at home. This will not happen again.”
