“They’ll Empty Your Wallet” — Man Advises Against Dating Nigerian Women in the UK

A Nigerian man has sparked debate online after advising men to avoid dating Nigerian women living in the United Kingdom (UK), claiming such relationships can lead to financial instability.

The man, identified as TikTok user Alvin Bil, shared his controversial opinion in a viral video, saying Nigerian women in the UK are often demanding and lack appreciation for their partners.

According to Alvin, many of these women transfer family responsibilities to the men they date and expect them to handle excessive financial burdens. He claimed this behavior makes it difficult for men to maintain financial stability while in relationships.

He said, “If you really want to be financially stable in the UK, try to avoid dating Nigerian girls living in the UK. Dem go even thief & achieve your polo dem,” suggesting that such relationships often leave men drained both emotionally and financially.

His statement quickly went viral, attracting mixed reactions from social media users.

One user, @forty_flourishing, countered, “Some of us actually spend and shelter you lots and we don’t come here to make noise.”

Another, @Oluwaseun Promise, added, “No one is saying we can’t spend on them, but seeing it as entitlement is my problem.”

Meanwhile, @CHRISTIAN shared, “My Jamaican boss wey I dey work date Nigerian girl, him come dey complain to me — omo, the girl bill am. I laugh am.”

The clip has since stirred widespread conversation online, with some agreeing with Alvin’s perspective while others accused him of generalizing Nigerian women.
