Three Nigerian Students Shine at Global English Language and Debate Competition in London
Three talented Nigerian students have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements at the 2025 TeenEagle Global English Championship held in London.
The trio excelled in English language skills debate and creative talent besting over 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
The champions 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli are all students from Nigeria Tulip International College in Mamudo Yobe State. Nafisa was named overall best in English language skills Rukayya won top honours in debate and Hadiza received the outstanding talent award for creativity and unique presentation.
This remarkable feat earned them a combined cash prize of N1.5 million and laptops, announced by Kashim Tumsah a development advocate and diplomat who praised their discipline and academic excellence.
He attributed their success to the investment in education under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and highlighted the achievement as a proud moment for both the state and Nigeria.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also extended his congratulations to the students, commending their exemplary performance and describing Nigeria’s future as brighter with such youthful talents.
The Yobe State government has promised to honour the students for bringing international recognition to the region and country.
This accomplishment underscores the potential of Nigerian youth on the global stage and highlights the importance of continued support for education and talent development across the nation.
