TikTok Video Sparks Debate as Woman Defends Nathaniel Bassey’s Midnight Praise Sessions

A Nigerian woman has stirred conversation online after confronting critics of the popular Hallelujah Challenge, led by gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey.

In a heartfelt TikTok video, she posed pressing questions to those who mock participants of the midnight praise and prayer session.

The Hallelujah Challenge is an online Christian praise and worship program hosted by Bassey, attracting thousands of believers every midnight.

Over the years, it has grown into a spiritual movement, though skeptics have occasionally criticized its effectiveness.

In the viral video shared via her TikTok handle @tobinaomi, the woman challenged haters, asking:

“Not only are you seeing it or choosing to join or see what’s happening, you’re then taking it one step further and beating down on people that are choosing to look to God to solve their problems. What good does that do for y’all?”

She added:

“Worst case scenario, praising God does not benefit anything. Is it bad? What bad can someone accomplish from praising God? Do you think you furthered the kingdom of heaven by spewing hate on the internet on something that a man of God is doing to give people hope and to bring glory to God’s name?”

The video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions from social media users, with some applauding her stance while others debated the relevance of online spiritual movements.
