TikToker Shares Harrowing Experience After Detainment Over False Claim Against Dayo Amusa.

A TikTok creator who falsely accused Nigerian actress Dayo Amusa of living with HIV has revealed the terrifying ordeal he endured during his two-day imprisonment at Panti Cell in Yaba, Lagos.

In a revealing video, the TikToker recounted the harsh conditions inside the detention center, including constant harassment by inmates, unsanitary surroundings, and the emotional toll it took on him.

In a video posted online, he revealed that inmates demanded he prostrate to them as a form of greeting. The cell lacked furniture and had four pit latrines with no separation from the living area, leaving inmates exposed to bad odors and swarms of mosquitoes.

Despite the hostility, he was spared physical abuse because the cell was monitored by cameras, and a fellow inmate, who recognized him from TikTok, offered him protection.

He recounted, “I was locked up for two days because of that post about Dayo Amusa’s health. It was the worst experience of my life apart from the passing of my mother. The cell was crowded with about 60 people sleeping on cold tiles while the leaders had worn-out bunk beds.”

The TikToker expressed gratitude to Dayo Amusa for forgiving him, saying her change of heart was the reason he was released early. “If she hadn’t forgiven me, I’d have been there much longer. I don’t wish to spend another night in such a place,” he said, remorsefully.

His candid account has sparked discussions on social media about the consequences of spreading false information and the realities of incarceration in Nigeria’s detention facilities.
