Tinubu Administration Steps Up Fight Against Terrorism, Promises Results

The Nigerian government, under President Bola Tinubu, is rolling out a series of comprehensive measures to combat terrorism, blending military operations with socio-economic programs and regional diplomacy.

Minister of Solid Minerals, Deji Alake, revealed this during a press briefing hosted by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, in Abuja on Wednesday.

Alake emphasized that Nigeria’s insecurity challenges did not begin under Tinubu and highlighted the proactive steps taken by the current administration. “From the recent changes in security architecture to the replacement of top security officials, these actions are designed to reinvigorate the fight against terrorism,” he said.

He further stated that the government’s strategies, which stem from extensive planning, are already producing results. Comparing current efforts with the past decade, Alake said the Tinubu administration’s initiatives have been more coordinated and impactful.

Addressing misconceptions about the motives behind terrorist attacks, Alake clarified:

“There is no deliberate targeting of any religion or persecution. Many attacks are driven by economic or political reasons, not faith. Misrepresenting the situation fuels the wrong narrative.”

The minister also called on media organizations to focus on the successes of Nigeria’s armed forces in counterterrorism efforts rather than amplifying fear.

These measures, he added, are part of a broader government vision to ensure the safety of all Nigerians while strengthening national stability.
