Tinubu Commits to Fighting Insecurity as 38 Worshippers and 51 Students Are Freed
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has affirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity following the successful rescue of abducted Nigerians across the country.
He announced that all 38 worshippers kidnapped in Eruku, Kwara State, have been safely recovered by security forces. Additionally, 51 students abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State were also released, as confirmed by the president.
To personally oversee the security operations, Tinubu cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa, ensuring direct coordination with frontline security agencies.
“My fellow Nigerians, thanks to the tireless efforts of our security forces, the 38 worshippers in Eruku and 51 students from the Catholic school in Niger State have been rescued.
I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and will not relent. Every Nigerian has the right to safety, and we will protect our citizens,” Tinubu said.
The president emphasized that his administration would continue prioritizing the safety of Nigerians, assuring that no citizen should live in fear.
The successful rescues come amid increasing attacks by bandits and insurgents in various regions, highlighting the urgent need for strengthened security and proactive measures to protect communities nationwide.
