Tinubu storms Lagos, sets to meet business leaders and commission projects ahead of independence day.

President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos for a working visit after attending the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Oyo State.

According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit comes as Nigeria prepares for the 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations. While in Lagos, the President is expected to hold meetings with leading figures in the private sector as well as senior government officials.

The statement added that Tinubu will travel to Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, to inaugurate projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma. As part of the anniversary activities, he will also commission the remodelled National Theatre in Lagos, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.

Earlier in Ibadan, Tinubu told guests at the coronation of Oba Ladoja that Nigeria’s economy had begun to recover following two years of reforms. He assured citizens that the sacrifices made in recent months were yielding results, describing the turnaround as “light at the end of the tunnel.”
