Tinubu to Commission Renewed Hope Estate in Kano Within Six Weeks – Housing Minister
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will commission the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Kano within the next six weeks.
The estate, located in Tabarakallah and Lambu areas of Kano State, is part of the Federal Government’s ambitious Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to deliver 100,000 affordable housing units nationwide—especially for low- and middle-income earners.
During an inspection visit, Dangiwa emphasized that the estate is nearing completion, with buildings already constructed and final touches such as water supply and electricity infrastructure underway. Contractors have been given a six-week deadline to complete modifications and finishing tasks before the official launch.
“The Renewed Hope Housing Cities and Estates Scheme is designed to provide 100,000 quality homes across Nigeria. President Tinubu is committed to tackling Nigeria’s housing deficit through affordable, inclusive urban development,” the minister stated.
He also directed contractors to create designated access zones for delivery trucks to prevent further damage to the estate’s roads.
The housing scheme is part of broader public-private partnership efforts by the government to improve living conditions, reduce the number of homeless citizens, and boost economic activity through infrastructure development.
