Tinubu Vows to Honour Buhari with “House of Joy and Prosperity”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged to immortalize late former President Muhammadu Buhari by establishing what he described as a “House of Joy and Prosperity” in his honour.
Tinubu made the remarks on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja when members of The Buhari Organisation (TBO), led by former Nasarawa State Governor Senator Tanko Al-Makura, paid him a solidarity visit.
The influential group, which represents the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc within the APC, formally endorsed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
Al-Makura reaffirmed TBO’s loyalty to the president, describing Tinubu and Buhari as leaders united by a vision for justice, sovereignty, and good governance.
“We are with you in loyalty, in person, and in purpose,” Al-Makura declared.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, also pledged support on behalf of former CPC members, noting that more than 90% of the party’s pioneer leaders remain committed to Tinubu’s administration.
In response, Tinubu assured his guests of his government’s focus on economic stability, food security, and agricultural mechanisation. He revealed that Nigeria had already surpassed its 2025 revenue target without borrowing, while also pointing to improvements in the foreign exchange market.
“Nigeria is not borrowing. We have met our revenue target for the year, and we met it in August,” Tinubu said. “The economy is stabilised. When I took over, it was ₦1,900 to a dollar; it’s ₦1,450 now.”
The president also announced plans for mechanised farming centres in every region to ensure food sovereignty and poverty reduction.
Reflecting on Buhari’s legacy, Tinubu highlighted his predecessor’s values of honesty, transparency, and justice, vowing to preserve them through the proposed Buhari House.
“We will definitely put something together to build a Buhari House a house of joy and prosperity,” Tinubu declared.
