Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election ‘Unstoppable,’ Says NNPP Lawmaker Abdulmumin Jibrin
House of Representatives member Abdulmumin Jibrin has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu is on track to secure a second term in 2027, declaring that no political force can derail his chances.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Jibrin—who represents Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency of Kano State under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)—said his long-standing relationship with Tinubu transcends party lines.
“I believe nothing will stop him from winning the 2027 elections. There are no two ways about it. I am a Tinubu person. I like him and he likes me. Regardless of political affiliation, our relationship has always been strong,” he stated.
The lawmaker dismissed claims that the president lacks grassroots support in northern Nigeria, cautioning against what he called a “dangerous calculation.”
“Tinubu is not an orphan in the North. He has people who support him, even if they’re not always vocal. As much as there are those who oppose him, there are also many who want him in. Anyone assuming otherwise is misleading themselves,” he said.
Jibrin further argued that the North has historically held power longer than the South and urged northern stakeholders to acknowledge current political realities rather than undermine their own leaders.
He concluded that while opposition voices remain active, more endorsements for Tinubu will surface as the 2027 elections draw closer.
