“Tonto Dikeh Breaks Silence, Rejects Involvement in Mohbad Controversy: ‘I Choose Peace Over Disgrace'”
Veteran Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has responded after being dragged into the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of singer Mohbad.
The reaction follows claims made by social media activist VeryDarkMan, who alleged that a WhatsApp group related to the “Justice for Mohbad” movement was created by actress Iyabo Ojo and included Tonto Dikeh, music producer Samklef, and others.
In a strongly worded statement, Tonto Dikeh distanced herself from the matter, stating that she would not allow herself to be drawn into the chaos. She emphasized that her life is guided by peace and divine purpose, and she chooses not to wrestle with mortals.
“After four decades on this earth, I have made a conscious, unwavering choice: peace over disgrace,” she wrote. “I walk in perfect rhythm with El-Roi the God who sees me the One who fights my battles in silence and secures my victories in full view. Truth needs no defense; in His time, it shall be revealed, not by my hand, but by His divine orchestration.”
Dikeh went on to assert her strength, legacy, and self-love: “My legacy is already speaking, and my seed shall echo my strength long after I am gone.
To those awaiting my fall into chaos, you clearly do not know WHO I AM… NOR WHOSE I AM. You do not know the joy I carry a joy that is divine, untouchable, and irrevocable. No man born of a woman can strip me of it.”
Concluding her message, she declared, “I stand rooted, healed, and dangerously in love with myself. In this sacred space of self-love, I am both my sanctuary and my fire. Excuse me to say FUCK THE DEVIL. #ADAELROI – She who is seen, shielded, and unstoppable.”
