Tragedy in Ondo: Woman Arrested for Fatally Stabbing Boyfriend Over Cheating Allegation

A tragic incident unfolded in Okitipupa, Ondo State, over the weekend as a 25-year-old man, Michael Ikuedowoni, lost his life after being stabbed by his girlfriend, Augustina Mowari, during a heated quarrel reportedly triggered by allegations of infidelity.

Sources reveal the couple had a history of frequent arguments rooted in suspicion and distrust. The latest confrontation reportedly turned violent when Augustina accused Michael of cheating. In a fit of rage, she allegedly stabbed him in the leg with a pair of scissors.

“He was bleeding, but it didn’t look life-threatening,” a source close to the couple said. Michael was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and discharged. However, his condition worsened hours later. His leg became severely swollen, and he was rushed back to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the suspect. DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that Augustina is currently in custody and that investigations are ongoing. “She will be charged to court once investigations are concluded,” he said.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the full details of the fatal altercation.
