Trump Issues Stern Warning to Nigeria Over Rising Attacks on Christians

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Nigeria, expressing outrage over ongoing attacks on Christians in the country. In a newly released video, Trump described the killings as a “horrible massacre” allegedly carried out by radical Islamist groups.

Trump called for Nigeria to be classified as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) under U.S. law—a designation reserved for nations accused of severe violations of religious freedom.

“Christianity is facing a serious threat in Nigeria. Thousands are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this bloodshed. When Christians or any faith group are slaughtered like this, action must be taken,” he said.

He revealed that he has asked the U.S. Congress, alongside West Virginia Treasurer Riley Moore, to urgently investigate the situation and report back “without delay.”

The president emphasized that the United States will not remain silent while such violence continues. “We stand ready, willing, and able to protect our Christian population across the world. The killing of Christians must stop,” Trump said.

He also issued a stern warning, hinting at potential military action if the Nigerian government fails to address the attacks. “We’re going to do things to Nigeria that Nigeria won’t be happy about. If we act, it will be fast, fierce, and decisive. We will completely wipe out the terrorists responsible for these crimes,” Trump declared.

Trump’s statements have reignited global attention on reports of violence against Christians in Nigeria, with international observers now closely watching whether the U.S. will follow through on its warning.
