Trump Shares AI-Generated Video of Obama in Handcuffs, Calls for Arrest After Explosive Coup Allegations

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has ignited fresh controversy by posting an AI-generated video showing Barack Obama being arrested a dramatic move that followed serious allegations from his administration about a supposed “coup” plot during the Obama era.

The video, shared Sunday on Trump’s Truth Social platform, shows a digitally altered version of Obama being handcuffed during an Oval Office meeting with Trump. The clip, edited from real footage of their 2016 post-election meeting, ends with Obama dressed in a prison jumpsuit, as the Village People’s “YMCA” plays in the background.

This post came just hours after current Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, appeared on Fox News, accusing the Obama administration of orchestrating a “years-long coup” to remove Trump from office by manufacturing false intelligence related to Russian election interference.

Gabbard claimed she had referred high-ranking Obama officials including former FBI Director James Comey and ex-DNI James Clapper to the Justice Department for investigation.

Trump quickly seized on the moment, praising Gabbard and demanding accountability:

“Great job by young and talented Harrison Fields on FoxNews. The panel was fantastic on prosecuting Obama and the thugs exposed for highest level election fraud. Congratulations to Tulsi Gabbard. Keep it coming!!!”

Not stopping there, Trump also shared doctored mugshots of Obama-era cabinet officials and called for the arrest of Democratic Senator Adam Schiff.

In another Truth Social post, Trump revisited 2016 election events, asserting that intelligence officials initially found no evidence of Russian interference only for that narrative to allegedly change suspiciously in December, after his victory.

The posts come amid renewed criticism of Trump’s own controversies including backlash over his administration’s recent claim that no “Epstein client list” exists. That assertion, and its implications for the Jeffrey Epstein case, have stirred anger even among his supporters.

Meanwhile, Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, lashed out at Gabbard’s comments, accusing her of weaponizing her office to echo Trump’s conspiracy theories.

“It’s appalling that DNI Gabbard would accuse her own intelligence community of treasonous conspiracy, yet couldn’t bring herself to call Edward Snowden a traitor,” Warner wrote on X.
