UK Court Jails Nigerian Man for Six Years Over Sexual Abuse of Minor

A 41-year-old Nigerian man, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison by a UK court for sexually abusing a minor. The conviction follows a thorough investigation by Thames Valley Police, culminating in a verdict at Aylesbury Crown Court on July 29, 2025.

Nosakhare, a resident of Sheelin Grove, Bletchley, was found guilty on two counts of penetrative sexual activity and three counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl under the age of consent. The abuse occurred after he connected with the victim’s mother on an online dating platform and later gained access to the child.

In addition to his prison term, Nosakhare has been placed on the UK Sex Offenders Register for life and was issued a restraining order to protect the victim.

Detective Constable Bryn Smith, of the Thames Valley Police Child Abuse Unit, praised the courage of the young victim and stated:

“I want to commend the victim for her bravery throughout both the investigation and court proceedings. I hope that Elvis Nosakhare’s conviction and sentence gives her some sense of justice.”

Smith also reaffirmed the force’s dedication to combating sexual abuse and supporting survivors.

“Thames Valley Police has dedicated teams who investigate sexual offences, support victims, and bring offenders to justice. I encourage anyone with information or who has been a victim to come forward. You will be listened to and supported.”

Nosakhare’s sentencing is part of the ongoing commitment by UK authorities to prosecute individuals involved in child abuse, regardless of nationality.
