Verydarkman Shuts Down Rumours, Says Davido Has Never Given Him a Kobo
Controversial social media activist, Verydarkman, has publicly refuted claims that music superstar Davido has ever given him financial support, stating unequivocally that every expense related to his association with the singer was funded by himself.
In a recent video shared on his Instagram page, Verydarkman clarified that while many believe Davido flew him to Lagos or paid for his hotel stay, he personally handled all costs involved. He stressed that even interactions portrayed as being sponsored by the musician were misrepresented for “entertainment purposes.”
“Anytime I talk about Davido, people say, ‘after all Davido has done for you.’ But let me be clear Davido never gave me money. I paid for my flight to Lagos. I paid for my hotel. They said Davido lodged me that’s false. I handled everything myself,” he stated.
He also addressed a rumor that he was offered ₦50 million after meeting with Davido’s uncle. According to him, he turned down the offer, asserting that his principles could not be bought.
“Even when they said his uncle go give me ₦50 million, I no collect. Make that one clear,” he added.
Verydarkman’s remarks have stirred reactions online, especially from fans who had long assumed he was financially affiliated with the 30BG camp. His statement not only distances him from Davido’s inner circle but also appears aimed at shutting down narratives that his activism is being influenced by celebrity connections.
The outspoken figure, known for tackling social issues and entertainment industry controversies, said he often allows certain misperceptions slide for entertainment value, but this time decided to speak his truth.
