Viral hawker who gave money to prisoners graduates as lawyer, thanks Obi Cubana and supporters
A young man who once captured national attention for his act of kindness has achieved a remarkable milestone graduating from law school.
Ekuma Jeremiah Iziogo, widely known as Jerry Luck, went viral in 2022 when a short video showed him giving money from his roadside earnings to inmates inside a correctional service vehicle. The nine-second clip not only melted hearts but also changed the trajectory of his life.
Following the viral moment, billionaire businessman Obi Cubana offered Jeremiah a full scholarship to study law, giving him the opportunity to pursue his long-held dream.
Now, in 2025, Jeremiah has completed his studies and proudly shared photos from his graduation ceremony on Instagram. In an emotional post, he reflected on the challenges and breakthroughs of his five-year journey:
“Today, a journey that started with little or no hope of crossing the finish line has come to an amazing end. I once had a raw but fragile hope of becoming a lawyer. That hope crashed, but I began again in a bigger and better way through the invaluable support of good-hearted Nigerians. It was five years of diverse experiences.”
Jeremiah expressed deep gratitude to Obi Cubana and others who contributed to his success, including @iam_hymans, @lush_eby, @winihyc, @rockyemmyphotography, Daddy Freeze, and “hundreds of others.”
“Thank you for making my dream a reality and keeping all your promises. I can’t appreciate your candid support enough. This is a true testament to your philanthropy and service to humanity,” he wrote, celebrating with hashtags #LLB #EBSU2025.
His achievement has since sparked celebrations online, with many Nigerians calling it one of the most inspiring success stories to emerge from a viral moment.
