Wabara Links Recent PDP Headquarters Brawl to Insufficient Security Measures
Adolphus Wabara, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), has pointed to inadequate security as the cause of a recent altercation during a meeting at the party’s headquarters.
This incident occurred on January 29 amid a leadership dispute regarding the national secretary position.
During a BoT meeting on Wednesday at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, Wabara expressed his concern over the security lapse and announced that future meetings of the BoT would take place outside the party headquarters until security is enhanced.
He stated, “As we move forward with a positive outlook, it is essential to recognize the unfortunate event from our last board meeting. The incidents were primarily due to insufficient security measures at the party headquarters.
After careful deliberation, we have decided that until the security situation is adequately improved, our future meetings will not be held at the party secretariat.
The safety of our members and the integrity of our discussions must be prioritized.”
Wabara urged the PDP leadership to take swift action to address these security issues, ensuring that the party’s secretariat remains a safe environment for conducting party business.
