“We’re Ready” – Nigerians in US Army React After Trump Threatens Military Action in Nigeria
Nigerians serving in the United States Army have declared their readiness following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments about possible military intervention in Nigeria.
Trump’s statement, made in response to reports of attacks on Christians in Nigeria, has stirred intense debate online and raised questions about potential U.S. involvement in African security matters.
A viral post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Horiyourme shows a Nigerian soldier sending a bold message to the @HQNigerianArmy.
He wrote:
“Dear @HQNigerianArmy, please tell your boys to pack it up and head to the barracks. POTUS said we’re coming in to show them how to deal with terrorists. We don’t do romance with terrorists; we speak the language they understand.”
The post quickly gained traction online, sparking widespread reactions and heated conversations among Nigerians on social media.
On November 1, 2025, Donald Trump revealed that he had instructed the Pentagon to prepare for “possible fast” military action in Nigeria if the government failed to address the alleged killings of Christians.
The warning comes amid ongoing violence in parts of Nigeria, particularly in the central and northwestern regions, where clashes between herders, farmers, and armed groups have led to significant loss of life.
Adding to the tension, the U.S. Department of War recently released an AI-generated simulation video showing a hypothetical U.S. military operation in Nigeria targeting “Islamic terrorists.”
The video, which circulated widely across social media platforms, depicts a virtual intervention scenario that has drawn sharp public attention and intensified online debates about U.S.–Nigeria relations.
