Wike Accused of Awarding Multi-Billion Naira Abuja Lands to Family and Allies

Newly uncovered documents have exposed a series of controversial land allocations approved by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, raising serious concerns about abuse of office, conflict of interest, and corruption at the highest levels of government.

According to findings published by Peoples Gazette, Wike authorized at least 33 land allocations to his close family members, including his 90-year-old father, Joshua Nlemanya Wike, who reportedly received a N400 million plot in Guzape II, Abuja.

Other beneficiaries listed include his cousins, nephews, and even long-time allies, such as paternal cousin Believe Wike, nephews Victor and Henry Wike, and cousin Enwusonye Promise Wike. Eight members of another associate’s family James Hunwo were also granted land allocations on the same day: July 16, 2025.

This is not Wike’s first instance of allocating government land to relatives. In April 2025, six additional family members were awarded plots in the same Guzape II district.

Records show allocations to Vincent Ejike Wike, Chidi Sam Wike, Chituru Wike, Christian Ibebulachi Wike, Collins Ngeme Wike, and Emmanuel Okanwene Wike with plot sizes ranging from 2,158 to 2,813 square meters.

The documents also reveal that Wike signed many of these approvals personally, allegedly bypassing statutory procedures, including payment of mandatory land fees.

Insiders within the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) allege that Wike often issued verbal orders to expedite allocations for his associates.
