Wike No Longer Recognised as PDP Member – Party Professionals Fire Back

The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has declared that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is no longer considered a member of the PDP, citing his open support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to Wike’s recent comments during a media chat on Monday, the CP-PDP urged Nigerians to disregard his remarks and accused the former Rivers State Governor of attempting to interfere in the internal affairs of the opposition party.

In a strongly worded statement signed by the group’s chairman, Obinna Nwachukeu, the PDP professionals said the party has moved past being swayed by political theatrics and intimidation.

“The FCT Minister must realise that the PDP has grown beyond the reach of individuals seeking to manipulate its direction through public outbursts,” the statement read.

The group criticized Wike for trying to impose his views on the party’s leadership structures in the South-South and South-East, stressing that those chapters are fully functional and have been properly constituted.

“His reference to court orders concerning the leadership in those zones is irrelevant and should be ignored,” the statement continued.

Describing Wike as an “appointee and apologist of the failed Tinubu administration,” the CP-PDP emphasized that the minister’s continued alignment with the APC disqualifies him from speaking on PDP matters.

The group called on PDP members and the general public to focus on issues of governance and national development rather than be distracted by Wike’s political antics.
