Wike’s Chief Security Officer, IGP Associate Named in ₦800 Million Abuja Land Fraud Targeting 79-Year-Old Widow.

A senior police officer serving as Chief Security Officer to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, ACP Mohammed Iya Musa, has been named in a major land scam involving forged documents, fraudulent sales, and attempts to derail investigations all centered around the property of a 79-year-old widow in Abuja.

New court documents reveal that ACP Musa is the second defendant in a civil suit (Suit No: FCT/HC /CV/1678/2025), following allegations of collusion with Rebecca Omokamo Godwin Isaac a known associate of Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.

The disputed land sits on Plot 1862 in Katampe District, part of multiple plots allegedly stolen from Mrs. Collen Mero Yesufu, a widow whose family is now seeking justice.

Musa is accused of facilitating the sale of the disputed land to Rebecca and introducing her to Joseph Eriki, Director of Investigation and Prosecution at the FCTA, allegedly to obstruct a probe into forged land documents.

Five individuals claiming to be land subscribers Mohammed Sulaiman Rilwan, Nicholas Okechukwu Nweke, Chineze Okwudaue, Dennis Eromosele Obeto, and Jebosa Judith Obeto filed the civil suit listing Musa, Homadil Realty Ltd, the EFCC, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Honourable FCT Minister among the defendants.

Rebecca and her associates are accused of forging title documents, Power of Attorney, affidavits, and even a police extract allegedly signed by officers at the Gwarinpa Division, Zone 7. These documents claimed she lost the original title for Plot 4022 while in transit a story Mrs. Yesufu’s lawyers describe as a fabrication designed to claim ownership of land sold by AGIS insiders.

ACP Musa, previously suspended from the police for misconduct while in Yobe State Command, was recalled and later appointed as CSO to Minister Wike by IGP Egbetokun who had served in Zone 7, the same jurisdiction connected to the forged police document.

The Director of Investigations, Joseph Eriki, is also facing criminal charges. In May 2025, the Federal Government charged him and ten others with forgery, trespass, conspiracy, and obstruction of public officers, all tied to illegal land grabs across Katampe and Guzape districts.

“We have uncovered a deeply entrenched network exploiting vulnerable landowners,” said Barrister Maxwell Opara, counsel to Mrs. Yesufu. “What we’re witnessing is institutionalized land theft protected by high-ranking officials.”

“The introduction of Rebecca to FCTA officials by ACP Musa appears to be a deliberate move to cripple investigations and shield those involved,” a legal source familiar with the case told SaharaReporters.
