Wizkid Praises Son Champz as 14-Year-Old’s Debut EP Tops Charts Across Africa

Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has shown his softer side while celebrating his son, Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz, following the release of his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival.

The proud father expressed his joy on social media, saying:

“We love it man, he’s my kid you know!”

At just 14 years old, Champz is already making waves in the music industry. His five-track EP topped Apple Music Nigeria less than five hours after its release, making him the youngest African artist to achieve this milestone. The project is also charting in 16 countries and reached #71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums.

In his music, Champz speaks candidly about personal experiences. On the track Superstar, he reflects on lessons from young heartbreaks, promising to show love to his future children, while asserting his authenticity despite critics labeling him a “nepo baby.”

The track Grind sees him throwing playful shade at haters, cleverly referencing his father’s legacy.

Champz’s mother, Sola Ogudugu, has been a constant source of support, guiding him through life and music. She expressed pride on social media, thanking fans for streaming the EP and celebrating her son’s achievement.
