Wizkid Subtly Responds After Carter Efe’s Public Outburst and Loyalty Switch to Davido’s 30BG
Popular Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid has broken his silence after skit maker and musician Carter Efe went on a viral rant, renouncing his allegiance to Wizkid FC and pledging support for Davido’s 30BG crew.
The controversy erupted during a live Instagram session between Carter Efe and singer Khaid, where Carter voiced frustration over what he described as Wizkid’s “pride” and silence.
The skit maker, known for his viral track Machala a tribute to Wizkid expressed disappointment that the artist never publicly acknowledged his efforts.
Carter didn’t mince words, calling Wizkid “an idiot” and accusing him of being ungrateful, sparking backlash from fans.
Shortly after the rant, Carter’s TikTok account, which boasted over 3.4 million followers, and his Instagram page with 1.8 million followers, were taken down reportedly in retaliation by enraged fans.
Amid the growing tension, Wizkid took to his Instagram Stories with a cryptic message that many believe was a subtle response. He wrote:
“Told God, take everything evil out of my life, and I have been seeing signs. Work with God.”
Although he didn’t directly mention Carter Efe, fans were quick to interpret the post as a veiled reference to the controversy. The message, filled with spiritual undertones, suggests that the singer is unbothered and focused on a higher path.
@01.04.2z: “It’s God only. If Wizkid wasn’t a musician, he’d be a preacher. Always speaks about God and love.”
@maverickdisofficial: “Carter Efe and barbecue one of the signs.”
@helenokafor22: “He’s talking about Carter Efe.”
@01.04.2z: “Work with God and you’ll see change. I learn so much from Wiz.”
While the dust is yet to settle, Wizkid’s reserved approach continues to contrast sharply with Carter Efe’s dramatic outburst, keeping fans divided on who’s right and what’s next.
