Woli Arole Sparks Debate, Declares BDSM Has No Place in Christian Marriage
Popular Nigerian comedian-turned-pastor, Woli Arole, has stirred social media with his strong stance against the practice of BDSM within Christian marriages.
In a recent Instagram post, Woli Arole addressed a question posed to him regarding the acceptability of BDSM in Christian unions. BDSM an acronym for bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, and sadomasochism comprises various consensual sexual practices often discussed in modern relationships.
However, Arole maintained a firm and conservative position, stating that such acts are incompatible with Christian values.
“I was asked, ‘Can a Christian do BDSM in marriage?’ My own answer is NO,” he wrote.
Arole, who transitioned from comedy to ministry, has become known for sharing faith-based perspectives on modern lifestyle choices. His comment adds to ongoing conversations about faith, sexuality, and the evolving dynamics of marital intimacy in religious communities.
His post quickly sparked divided opinions online.
While some praised his stance as upholding biblical principles, others argued that what consenting adults do in their marriage should not be policed, especially when mutual respect and boundaries are maintained.
As debates around faith and sexual expression continue, Woli Arole’s remarks highlight the tension between religious beliefs and modern relationship practices, igniting fresh discussions among Christians and the wider public.
