Woman murders Husband in Uwani
In the quiet neighborhood of Uwani, a tragic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, as Mrs. Felicia Uzodinma, originally from Awka, Anambra state and a dedicated staff of UNTH Enugu, took her husband’s life in a shocking turn of events.
Reports suggest that Mrs. Uzodinma had been grappling with mental instability, a condition believed to have stemmed from her struggles with childlessness.
Her ordeal took a disturbing turn on Monday, October 9, 2023, when even her nurse, who regularly administered injections to help manage her condition, was met with resistance.
In a desperate attempt to administer the medication, a struggle ensued, resulting in the nurse being stabbed on the hand.
Eventually, the injection was administered, but Mrs. Uzodinma continued to harbor resentment towards her husband, who had insisted on her treatment.
The medication, when administered, required her to be tied up for an hour before she regained consciousness. In an act of compassion, her husband untied her, pledging his love and devotion.
Tragically, this love and compassion turned fatal when, early on Tuesday morning, Mrs. Uzodinma, in a fit of mental instability, stabbed her husband three times as he slept.
The adopted daughter raised the alarm, but by the time neighbors arrived, Mr. Chris Uzodimma, a retired UNTH staff, had passed away.
The deceased’s body was taken to the mortuary, leaving the community in shock and mourning the loss of a once-happy family shattered by the devastating effects of mental illness.
Mrs Uzodimma is currently receiving treatment at the psychiatric department of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu.
