Yari’s Ally Denies Claims That Tinubu is “Caged,” Affirms President’s Active Leadership
Mr. Aminu Shehu, an ally of Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has refuted media reports suggesting that Yari described President Bola Tinubu as “caged.”
The claims reportedly emerged during the One Nigeria Project Conference in Abuja, where some outlets alleged that Yari said the real power had shifted outside the Presidential Villa.
In a statement on Wednesday, Shehu described the reports as a “deliberate attempt to mislead the public and stir unnecessary political tension.”
He clarified that Senator Yari, in fact, praised the President’s dedication to national development and urged unity among Nigerians.
According to Shehu, Yari highlighted Tinubu’s active engagement in governance, stating that the President receives detailed briefs from all sectors and is committed to solving Nigeria’s challenges.
Yari also emphasized the role of collective responsibility in addressing the country’s problems, noting that many issues were self-inflicted.
Shehu added that the Senator criticized negative rhetoric targeted at Tinubu, stressing that national cohesion is crucial for progress.
Yari also reportedly informed the President about his attendance at the conference, reinforcing transparency and collaboration.
Concluding his remarks, Shehu reiterated that Yari’s statements called for cooperation and unity to achieve a “One Nigeria,” contrasting sharply with the false claims circulating online.
