Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni Denies Joining Atiku’s Coalition, Says He’s Committed to APC.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has denied rumors that he is joining a coalition of opposition leaders led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

In a statement, Buni’s Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, described the claims as baseless and without foundation.

Mohammed emphasized Buni’s strong commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing his two-term tenure as National Secretary and National Chairman of the party.

According to Mohammed, Buni’s contributions to building APC make it unimaginable for him to leave the party.

The statement was in response to a viral text message claiming that Buni and four other APC governors had concluded arrangements to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join Atiku’s coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
