“You are a product of Fela’s recklessness with women”-Aisha Yesufu blasts Seun Kuti

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent activist, has fired back at Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, after he criticized her advocacy for women’s freedom in Nigeria. Seun had said, “Liberate yourself from your Hijab first,” implying that Aisha’s own choices undermine her message .

Aisha clapped back, saying Seun is trying to use her name to boost his relevance, as his music career isn’t taking off .

She also took a jab at Fela, suggesting that if he had been more disciplined in his personal life, Seun wouldn’t be behaving this way.

The drama started when Seun posted a video disagreeing with Aisha’s stance on women’s freedom, claiming African women already have more freedom than women in other regions .

Aisha responded on X, saying Seun’s comments are a desperate attempt to stay relevant, as people only book his shows to see a caricature of his father.
