Yul Edochie Slams Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda as Nigerians Face Rising Insecurity, Hardship

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing deep frustration over the state of insecurity and worsening economic conditions across the country.

In a strongly worded social media post, Edochie questioned whether the administration’s much-publicized “renewed hope” promise is being fulfilled, noting that many Nigerians are barely surviving.

Edochie lamented the growing wave of kidnappings, bandit attacks, and the soaring cost of living, which he said have left ordinary citizens feeling unsafe and overwhelmed.

He wrote:
“Dear President Tinubu, bandits are gradually taking over the whole country, spilling the blood of Nigerians at will without consequences. Nigerians are being kidnapped daily. Things are so expensive, the suffering is unbearable. Is this the renewed hope you promised Nigerians?”

His remarks echoed the sentiments of many Nigerians who have voiced similar concerns about the country’s deteriorating security situation and economic hardship.

Once seen as supportive of the Tinubu administration, Edochie has now joined the growing number of public figures calling for urgent government action to address the widespread suffering.

Social media reactions quickly followed, with users praising him for speaking up. One commenter wrote, “Finally someone is saying what we all are thinking.” Another added, “This is the truth Nigerians are suffering while leaders remain silent.”

Edochie’s criticism adds to mounting pressure on the government to deliver on its promises and restore public confidence amid escalating insecurity and financial strain affecting millions.
