Yul Edochie to Tinubu: “Focus on Insecurity, Cost of Living, Forget 2027 Politics for Now”
Controversial Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Yul Edochie, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on Nigeria’s pressing issues instead of being distracted by talks of the 2027 general elections.
In a strongly worded post on his verified Facebook page, the movie star who has been a vocal supporter of the president urged Tinubu to address the country’s worsening insecurity and soaring cost of living, which continue to affect millions of Nigerians.
“To my dear President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, @officialasiwajubat. Please don’t let politicians distract you with 2027. We’re still in 2025. High cost of living and high rate of insecurity are still ravaging Nigerians. These two remain the most pressing issues to deal with. May God lead you, sir,” Edochie wrote.
Edochie didn’t stop there. He also reignited his earlier appeal for the federal government to reconsider the cashless policy introduced by former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that it helped stabilize the economy, strengthen the naira, and reduce crime particularly kidnapping by limiting access to physical cash.
According to him, the policy had even boosted the value of lower denomination notes and played a role in easing inflation.
The actor has remained active in national conversations, frequently using his platform to advocate for policies that support ordinary Nigerians. His recent remarks add to the growing chorus of voices urging the Tinubu administration to deliver on its promises amidst widespread economic hardship.
