A$AP Rocky Set to Buy English Football Club After Not Guilty Verdict

Rapper A$AP Rocky is set to buy a majority stake in English football club Tranmere Rovers after being found not guilty of two felony counts of assault.

The proposed takeover, worth £15 million, will see Rocky’s consortium acquire over 80% of the club, with Indonesian investors Santini Group retaining their minority stake.

According to reports, the deal has been in the works for almost a year, and Rocky’s acquittal has paved the way for the takeover to be completed. The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Athelston Mayers, was acquitted on Tuesday after being charged with two counts related to the use of a semi-automatic weapon in a 2021 altercation with another hip-hop artist in Hollywood.

Rocky’s partner, singer Rihanna, and their two sons will likely be involved in the club’s activities, although the exact nature of their involvement is unclear.

The takeover is expected to bring significant investment and attention to Tranmere Rovers, who currently play in League Two.
