Aisha Yesufu Clarifies: “I’m Not a Member of the Labour Party”

Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu stated on Saturday that she is not affiliated with the Labour Party (LP) or any other political organization.

During an appearance on Seun Okinbaloye’s podcast, Mic On, Yesufu, a member of the 2023 LP presidential campaign council, emphasized her independence from political affiliations.

She also rejected the notion that she seeks political appointments, asserting her commitment to financial independence.

“I established my financial independence before I began advocating for Nigerian issues,” she explained. “I am not a card-carrying member of any party. I challenge anyone, living or dead, to claim that I have ever sought an appointment or contract in any capacity. I am a trader—I buy, sell, distribute, and develop properties.”
